Patchwork, fabric of different textures, and blends of color are just a few metaphors that come to mind when describing our sisters in Christ. And yes, this also describes sewing and quilting which is a big part of my life right now. I'm reading about, thinking about and planning about what I will be doing with that next bunch of fabric I buy.

What is so exciting is that I get to be with a bunch of sisters that have the same interests. We are all so colorful. We bring our different styles, likes, and interests of sewing or crafting. But we can come together and do fun things, like talking and chatting, laughing and giggling, learning and teaching. Colossians 2:2 ..that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love

Our God made us all so different. We are like a patchwork quilt. Many colors cut in different shapes, shaped into a working unit that is useful for His glory. Our fibers are woven with years of experience so we can pass on to others what God has taught us. Ephesians 4:3 ..eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. . Titus 2:3-4 Older women…are to teach what is good,…train the young women to love their husbands…working at home

Praise be to God in the highest for His ways are not our ways. We don't always understand Him but the Bible tells us He loves us so much and He made us exactly the way we are. (With all the uneven stitches and mistakes that no one else can see.) I Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

I hope I can be a useful quilt for His glory, using my many colors to show His love and grace, using the strength of strong threads of time to show His wisdom and promises and showing the durability of being made by the Makers hands. Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
